Bottega Teatro Fisico
Any theatrical expression is a physical act, which has the body as the essential and indispensable main tool.
It is no accident that stage movements tell us more about the character than the words spoken on stage. Furthermore, the language of physical actions is universal: it goes beyond linguistic boundaries. The actor who knows how to master this expression mode can create a character full of life and reveal all the facets of a text.
It is therefore necessary to work on what is happening to the actor before saying the text, doing a gesture or a step.
It is in this perspective that will be faced:
-
THEATRICAL BIOMECHANICS
-
NEUTRAL MASK
a system developed by Meyerhold based on body education and on the study of laws of physical action that allow actors to express themselves fully and to convey the full range of feelings to the audience
-
LARVAL MASKS
a means of discovering, recognizing and assuming the "neutral state" that exists before action, a state of receptivity to everything around us, a state of equilibrium that will make it easier to understand and express disparities and character conflicts; a basic mask, a support for all the other masks
-
CHARACTER MASKS
sketched masks, made of pure volumes and elementary geometries, that enclose a potential for understanding and suggesting to the body a form, a muscular tension, some movements, actions, behaviors that will lead to the character but still do not define it
human caricatures that amplify the personality of the character and allow you to deepen the acting and physical work associated with the moods. The magic of this kind of masks is in the ability to change expression depending on the movement, the breath and the emotional state of the wearer, even though they are totally rigid. These masks are also often used in the study of traditional acting, as instruments capable of highlighting the actor's right action-response times, highlighting the usual and superfluous movements that we often carry on the scene unconsciously
